Summary
Konan was the only female member of the Akatsuki and the childhood friend of Nagato and Yahiko. Orphaned by the wars that ravaged Amegakure, she was found and trained by Jiraiya alongside the two boys who would become her lifelong companions. Her unique ability — the Dance of the Shikigami — transforms her body into countless sheets of paper that she can shape into weapons, clones, and wings. As the "Angel" of Amegakure, she served as Pain's second-in-command and the administrator of the Hidden Rain.
After Nagato's death, Konan defected from the Akatsuki and returned to Amegakure to protect the legacy of her fallen friends. She confronted Tobi when he came to claim Nagato's Rinnegan, preparing a trap of such extraordinary scale that it remains one of the most impressive single preparations in the series: six hundred billion paper bombs set to explode continuously for ten minutes, designed to overwhelm Tobi's intangibility. Though Tobi survived through the use of Izanagi, Konan died knowing she had protected the Rinnegan as long as she could. Her final vision was of a red paper tag she had given to Jiraiya as a child — a symbol of the happy days when she, Nagato, and Yahiko dreamed of changing the world.
