Summary
Madara Uchiha was one of the founders of Konohagakure alongside Hashirama Senju and is widely considered the most powerful Uchiha in history. As a child in the Warring States Period, he lost brother after brother to the endless conflict with the Senju clan. He formed a secret friendship with Hashirama, and together they dreamed of a village where children would not die in war. Though they succeeded in founding Konoha, ideological differences drove them apart. Madara believed the Senju-dominated village would eventually destroy the Uchiha, and his fears proved prophetic when the clan was marginalized.
After his defeat at Hashirama's hands at the Valley of the End, Madara did not die. He used Izanagi to rewrite his death, obtained Hashirama's cells, and awakened the Rinnegan late in life. This allowed him to decode the Uchiha stone tablet and formulate the Eye of the Moon Plan — an Infinite Tsukuyomi to trap the world in a dream. He manipulated history from the shadows, including Obito Uchiha and the creation of the Akatsuki. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara was fully revived and became the Ten-Tails' jinchuriki, achieving godlike power. He was ultimately betrayed by Black Zetsu, the will of Kaguya Otsutsuki, and died acknowledging that Hashirama's philosophy of cooperation — not control — held the true path to peace.
