Summary
Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, was the fastest shinobi who ever lived — known across the nations as Konoha's Yellow Flash. A once-in-a-generation genius, Minato invented the Rasengan and perfected the Second Hokage's Flying Thunder God Technique to an unprecedented level, allowing him to teleport instantly to any marked location. His speed was so legendary that enemy nations gave flee-on-sight orders to their shinobi upon encountering him.
Minato was the student of Jiraiya and the teacher of Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohara. He married Kushina Uzumaki, the previous jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, and together they had a son — Naruto. When Tobi (Obito) attacked Konoha on the night of Naruto's birth, Minato fought and defeated the masked assailant before confronting the unleashed Nine-Tails. Using the Reaper Death Seal, Minato sealed half of the Nine-Tails within himself and the other half within newborn Naruto — sacrificing his life to save the village and give his son the means to one day control the beast.
During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Minato was reanimated by Orochimaru and fought alongside his son, witnessing the man Naruto had become. Their reunion and Minato's final farewell — wishing Naruto a happy birthday after 17 years — was one of the most emotional moments in the series. Minato's legacy lives on through Naruto, who inherited his father's blond hair, blue eyes, and talent for the Rasengan.
