Summary
Kankuro is the middle child of the Fourth Kazekage and a master puppeteer of Sunagakure. Like his predecessor Sasori, Kankuro wields battle puppets — including Karasu (Crow), Kuroari (Black Ant), and Sanshouo (Salamander) — with expert precision, using chakra strings to control multiple puppets simultaneously. His fighting style combines traps, poison, and mechanical weaponry, making him a deadly strategist on the battlefield. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Kankuro defeated Sasori after the legendary puppeteer was reanimated, earning recognition as the new greatest puppet master.
After the war, Kankuro became the commander of Sunagakure's Puppet Brigade and a trusted advisor to his brother Gaara, the Fifth Kazekage. In Boruto, he continues to serve the Sand Village loyally, operating as a Jonin and protecting his family legacy. His bond with Gaara has transformed from childhood fear into deep brotherly loyalty.
