Summary
Hidan was the immortal zealot of the Akatsuki. Through the dark rituals of Jashinism, Hidan became truly immortal — able to survive decapitation, dismemberment, and any physical wound. His Curse Ritual linked his body to his opponent's: whatever damage he inflicted on himself was mirrored on them, making him a terrifying assassin. After ingesting an opponent's blood and drawing the Jashin symbol, Hidan would self-mutilate to kill them. He murdered Asuma Sarutobi using this technique. Shikamaru Nara avenged his sensei by outsmarting Hidan, trapping him with explosive tags and burying his dismembered body deep within the Nara clan forest. Though still technically alive, Hidan remains buried and forgotten, a fate worse than death for the immortal.
