Summary
Kisame Hoshigaki, the Monster of the Hidden Mist, was one of the most feared members of the Akatsuki and Itachi Uchiha's partner. Wielding the sentient sword Samehada — a blade that devours chakra and fuses with its wielder — Kisame possessed chakra reserves rivaling a Tailed Beast. His shark-like appearance reflected his aquatic combat style, and his Water Release techniques could flood entire battlefields. Kisame was intensely loyal to the Akatsuki's vision and was used by Tobi to monitor Itachi's movements. When captured by Might Guy during the Fourth War, Kisame chose death over betrayal, summoning sharks to devour himself and protecting the Akatsuki's secrets. Guy, his greatest rival, remembered him as a worthy opponent — one of the few shinobi Guy acknowledged by name.
