Summary

Kakashi Hatake is the Jonin leader of Team 7 and one of the most skilled shinobi ever produced by the Hidden Leaf Village. Born as the only child of Sakumo Hatake, a legendary ninja known as Konoha's White Fang, Kakashi's early life was shaped by tragedy. When his father chose to save his comrades over completing a mission and was subsequently vilified, Sakumo took his own life. This left young Kakashi scarred and rule-obsessed.

A natural prodigy, Kakashi entered the Academy at age four, graduated at five, became Chunin at six, and Jonin by twelve. He was placed on Team Minato under Minato Namikaze alongside Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara. During the Third Great Ninja War, Rin died by Kakashi's own hand (at her request), and Obito was presumed dead after gifting Kakashi his Sharingan. These events permanently shaped Kakashi and left him with deep guilt.

Kakashi served as an ANBU captain earning the name Cold-Blooded Kakashi before becoming a Jonin instructor. He failed numerous Genin teams with his infamous bell test — which secretly taught teamwork — until passing Team 7: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. He taught Sasuke the Chidori and imparted crucial life lessons to all his students.

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Kakashi confronted Obito — now revealed to be alive as the masked leader of Akatsuki. In a climactic battle within the Kamui dimension, the two reconciled. After Obito's death, his spirit temporarily granted Kakashi both Mangekyo Sharingan, allowing him to manifest a Perfect Susanoo instrumental in battling Kaguya Otsutsuki.

Following the war, Kakashi was appointed Sixth Hokage, succeeding Tsunade. He led Konoha through modernization and rebuilding before passing the title to Naruto. In the Boruto era, he serves as a village advisor and trusted elder statesman. Despite losing the Sharingan, decades of experience and natural genius keep him among the most formidable shinobi alive. His laid-back personality, love of Make Out Tactics novels, and perpetual lateness mask a tactical brilliance legendary throughout the ninja world.
