Summary

Kawaki is one of the central figures of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and the primary antagonist-turned-antihero of Two Blue Vortex. Purchased as a child by his abusive biological father, Kawaki was sold to Jigen, the leader of the secret organization Kara, who subjected him to horrific experiments. Jigen implanted Kawaki with the Karma Seal of Isshiki Otsutsuki, transforming his body into a living weapon capable of manifesting nanotech modifications, dimensional abilities, and devastating combat power. Kawaki escaped Kara and was found by Team 7, eventually taken in by Naruto Uzumaki as an adoptive son.

Under Naruto's care, Kawaki experienced genuine love and family for the first time, forming a complex bond with Boruto as both a brother and rival. However, Kawaki's trauma and obsessive desire to protect Naruto from the Otsutsuki threat led him to make a catastrophic decision — using Eida's omnipotence ability, he rewrote reality so that Boruto was perceived as the enemy who had killed Naruto and Hinata, while Kawaki was perceived as Naruto's true son. In Two Blue Vortex, this twisted new reality holds, and Kawaki hunts Boruto with ruthless determination, believing that eliminating all Otsutsuki — including Boruto, who carries Momoshiki's Karma — is the only way to save the world. Kawaki is a tragic figure: a boy who found a family and destroyed it to protect it, now standing as the greatest threat to the very bonds he once cherished.
